INFORMATION…
Field Placements:
My field placement took place at Anthony Wayne Services, a
local social service agency. I observed Kelly Kahn, a QMRP,
serving three youth group homes within the agency. She and I
worked most directly together.
Thoughts or favorite memory
you would like to share about the Social Work Program at USF
and your experience going through the program:
I was impressed with the social work program as I transferred
from the education department. I enjoyed the various
backgrounds the faculty brought to the program and courses.
Thoughts or favorite memory
you would like to share about the Social Work Program at USF
and your experience going through the program:
I thought that the Social Work Program gave a lot of” hands
on” experience. We had good opportunities because of the small
class sizes.
Your interest areas:
My interests are mainly working with developmentally disabled
children or young teens facing pregnancy and parenting. In the
past I have been fortunate to have volunteered at agencies
serving both of these populations.
Your future work and/or
graduate school plans:
Pursuing a master’s degree and hopefully working with children
in the schools.
Your long-term goals:
My long term goals include receiving a master’s of Social Work
and pursuing a position as a school social worker.
Recommendations for
prospective students who might be interested in our program
(do’s and don’ts, survival tips, etc.):
Put yourself out there! Experience not only your areas of
interest, but all areas in the field.
Any other comments:
I feel that the faculty is committed to each student’s success
in the program.
