LESLIE MC KINLEY’S COMMENTS
Field Placements:
Allen County Adult Probation – I went to court, met with
probationers, ran errands which includes filing petitions in
the clerk’s office, delivering papers to the prosecutor’s
office and many other errands.
Thoughts or favorite memory
you would like to share about the Social Work Program at USF
and your experience going through the program:
I thought that the Social Work program provided a lot of
“hands on” experience. We had good opportunities because of
the small class sizes.
Your interest areas:
Past and present interest lie somewhere in the criminal
justice system. Future plans would ideally include law school.
Your future work and/or
graduate school plans:
Future plans are a mystery to me. I will probably work for
probation or CPS until I decide if I want to go to grad school
or decide what I want to do when I grow up.
Your long-term goals:
I wish I knew.
Recommendations for
prospective students who might be interested in our program
(do’s and don’ts, survival tips, etc.): This program is very
educational because you are given so many opportunities. Take
advantage of small classes.
Any other comments:
I have said this a couple times in this…but take full
advantage of opportunities. Education eliminates prejudices –
this program address a lot of sensitive issues and allows one
to be informed.
