Admissions
Requirements for the BSW Program
Students seeking admission to
the BSW Program must
follow the procedures and requirements outlined below:
A student must be enrolled at
the University of Saint Francis (contact the
Office of Admissions)
before being admitted to the BSW Program. Upon declaring
social work as a major with the
Registrar’s Office,
students will be assigned to a BSW Program faculty member.
This faculty member will serve as the student’s advisor.
When a student has
successfully completed the introductory social work course (SOCW
185) and chooses to pursue the BSW degree, he or she must
complete the
Pre-Social Work Candidate Application and provide this to
the BSW Program Director. The provision of this form indicates
to the BSW Program faculty the student’s intention of
continuing as a social work major. It also provides the
faculty with information necessary to assist the student with
curriculum and practicum planning.
Students may continue taking
social work courses in addition to general education courses.
Before the conclusion of the student’s junior year, and upon
completion of designated coursework (see below), the student
must make final application to the BSW program. This process
requires students to complete the following steps:
