Residential Hall Network

Information for Students Living on Campus

The residential hall network is available for students currently living on campus. Each room is provided with network ports, so students can plug his or her personally owned computer into the USF network. However, student computers must be scanned for antivirus and other security checks in order to use the network. The following steps will help ensure your computer is ready for the network.

1. Update your Operating System by either running Windows Updates or Mac OS X updates.
2. Ensure your Antivirus software is installed and updated properly.
3. Remove any peer-to-peer file sharing software.

The University currently only supports Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac OS X on the residential network.
