Web Site Requirements
The following are required for all official university web pages:
Section 508 Accessibility Compliance
By law, all university web pages must meet Section 508 web accessibility requirements. All new sites created by the web developer will meet these requirements. It is the responsibility of all web site authors, content approvers, and administrators to understand and maintain these guidelines. If you are unsure of these requirements, please contact the web developer for assistance.
Adherence to a Web Style Guide
Each web site with a unique design will have a web style guide to follow. The guide will outline a set of design requirements for each site, suggesting fonts, color palette, and other design elements.
Content: Timely Maintenance
Outdated or inaccurate information should not appear on university web sites. Areas of concern: news, events, schedules, and any related photography. A good rule of thumb is to leave these types of information on the sites for a maximum of six (6) months and then remove it from the site. Please do not post these types of information if you cannot keep your site current. Any news or event information found on the site older than six (6) months will be pulled down at the discretion of the web developer.
Content: Publishing
All content must go through an approval process before it is posted to a web site. This is to ensure quality content throughout all university sites. Only a web administrator or content approver is allowed to approve content.
University of Saint Francis Banner
All official university pages must have a USF web banner spanning across the top of each page. The rest of the pages may be designed in any way that you wish.
