Home Page Policy

Definition

The University of Saint Francis home page (http://www.sf.edu) is the official internet site for the University of Saint Francis.

Purpose

The purpose of the university home page is to provide positive marketing messages to prospective students and parents, general information about what USF has to offer, and news about USF to the on and off campus community.

Targeted Audiences

Prospective Students, Current Students, Faculty and Staff, Alumni, and Visitors comprise the targeted audiences of the university's home page, with the primary focus on prospective students.

Content Policy

Requests to place content on the home page should be directed to the university Web Developer. Space on the home page is limited, and as such, priorities are based on the size of the intended audience and support of recruitment goals.

Link Policy

Link requests for the home page should be directed to the university Web Developer. Links are intended to provide general university information and direct users to needed sub-sites. Again, space is limited and priorities are determined by the Web Developer.

Links from the home page will not be provided to unsponsored personal resources. E.g. A web site for which a department or office has not accepted responsibility or where content is not controlled by university administrators, faculty, or staff. Web sites that originate from a non-university host will generally not be directly linked to the university's web site.
