Need a Tutor?
Tutoring can be done as walk-in, but preference is given to students who have scheduled appointments. Tutoring is generally on-on-one, but small group tutoring may be available.
Tutor hours are made on a semester basis. The tutoring center is available Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5pm in JPII 210. Individual subjects will not have tutors available at all times. Anatomy and Physiology tutoring occurs in Achatz Hall room 31. These times will be posted in our appointment book and in the actual tutoring area near the lab.
Tutoring is also now available online via Blackboard. Once you log into Blackboard and look for the SmartThinking tab. Availability of tutors can be found directly at the site. In some cases, live tutors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Important Information
A peer tutor should never offer any type of grade assesment. Tutors are peers and not professors. If a peer tutor offers a grade for an assignment, please contact a member of the SASS staff as soon as possible.
Peer tutors will not complete the work for students. Also, the Writing Center is not a proofreading service. Students are expected to work with the tutor throughout the writing process.
