A graduate with a BSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program has several advantages. A graduate from our program:
1) May apply state licensure as a professional social worker. Please see the Social Work License Map at socialworklicensemap.com for additional information. Also check the government web site of your state government.
2) May apply for advanced standing in a CSWE-accredited MSW (Master in Social Work) Program. If accepted, the MSW Program may require fewer credit hours for graduation. For programs with advanced standing, please see www.cswe.org/Accredited/Accredited-Programs.aspx.
3) May find several employment options in a wide variety of settings such as community mental health centers, domestic violence shelters, hospitals, hospices, social service agencies serving children, youth, families, and older adults, schools, child welfare, probation, veterans, nursing homes, adult or child protective services, rehabilitation centers, group homes for adults with developmental disabilities, or work training programs.
The BSW Program at the University of Saint Francis is a CSWE-accredited program.
