LOCATION: Fort Wayne 

JOB SUMMARY:  Under the direction of the Director of the academic program, adjunct faculty receive a contract or letter stating adjunct employment with a primary responsibility in teaching courses in Creative Arts division. Seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach courses in Web Design within the Creative Arts Division. Duties of this position include reporting to the program director, meeting with students to discuss the course, teaching web design and multimedia experiences. Candidate should demonstrate UI/UX development using HTML 5, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, and Adobe XD. Candidate should also have design knowledge using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Faculty members assess, plan, implement and evaluate instruction for students in clinical and classroom settings or studios in coordination with established course and program objectives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Masters or graduate degree in the field of study preferred.

 

Experience 

  • At least five year’s professional experience within the field required.
  • Experience in real-world web design preferred
  • Experience in kiosk and mobile web design preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in website design and layout
  • Experience in UI/UX design and visual aesthetics
  • Experience in designing an interactive website that effectively communicates a message
  • Experience in designing responsive and reactive websites
  • Experience with PHP, HTML 5, CSS and Javascript
  • Experience with embedding videos (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and images
  • Experience with WordPress and Wix preferred
  • Demonstrates an understanding of educational theory, instructional methods and evaluation technique and use of technology utilized in higher education in a classroom setting.
  • Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.

Must be available Monday/Wednesday 1:00-3:45 for Fall 2020 course.
