In this public lecture, Dr. John Bequette (Associate Professor of Theology) will discuss the history of the theological status of the Jewish people in Christianity. He will pay particular attention to the changes that took place at the Second Vatican Council as expressed in the document Nostra Aetate, and will also explore subsequent developments in the theology of Blessed John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
This lecture is free and open to the public, and is part of the Department of Philosophy & Theology's Public Lecture Series 2012-13, sponsored by the Department of Philosophy & Theology and the School of Arts and Sciences of the University of Saint Francis. This lecture is also linked to the 50 year celebration of "Vatican II – Then and Now."
