USF ticket advice offered as “Willy Wonka” continues this weekend

March 24, 2014 FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Over 2,300 people attended “Willy Wonka,” a collaboration of the University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne Youtheatre and DeBrand Fine Chocolate, this past weekend at the USF Performing Arts Center in downtown Fort Wayne.

To help those planning to attend the closing weekend of shows Friday through Sunday avoid lines for tickets, University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts officials are urging them to arrive early for tickets and their seats of choice, or to purchase tickets through ArtsTix Community Box Office at (260) 422-4226 or online anytime.

Tickets ordered through ArtsTix can be picked up prior to the show at the Arts United box office at 303 E. Main St., Fort Wayne, or by giving the purchaser’s first and last name at the “will call” table inside the USF Performing Arts Center. Either option bypasses the box office line at the USF Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 or older and children 10 and under. Group rates of $10 per person are available to groups of 20 or more.

Each child attending the show will receive a card for a complimentary store tour and “Wonka Bar” courtesy of DeBrand Fine Chocolate, and an entry into a drawing for a golden ticket entitling the winner to a 10-piece DeBrand tasting bar collection. Six golden ticket winners will be drawn throughout the play’s run, and a grand prize winner will be selected from those winners to receive a chocolate party at DeBrand for the child and up to 15 friends.

Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the USF Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St. Complimentary parking is available across Berry Street from the center.

The University of Saint Francis, founded in 1890 as a comprehensive university in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, offers more than 60 undergraduate and 14 graduate programs in five schools: The School of Health Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences, Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership, School of Professional Studies and School of Creative Arts.
