USF hosting children’s book character fair at Performing Arts Center

April 3, 2014 FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Children have an opportunity to meet their favorite children’s book characters at a literacy event at the USF Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St., Fort Wayne, on Saturday, April 26 from 9-10:30 a.m. The Northeast Literacy Council is sponsoring the event.

The Cat in the Hat, Jack from “Jack in the Beanstalk,” Nate the Great from the mystery series, “Junie B.” Jones and others will read books and lead activities with children.

The event is free with pre-registration by Monday, April 21. To pre-register, parents should email the student’s name, grade level and school to or mail it to Nancy Hankee, University of Saint Francis Department of Education, 2701 Spring St., Fort Wayne, IN 46808. The cost at the door is $5 per family.
