Sociology: Social Justice Emphasis
There are two emphases within the Sociology program at the University of Saint Francis. They are Social Justice and Criminology, and both lead to a bachelor's degree. Social justice is one of the cornerstones of Franciscan values. The Sociology program is proud to offer a degree in direct support of the University's mission and that can serve as the foundation of a life dedicated to the pursuit of fostering a peaceful and socially just world. With course work that supports students' interests (e.g., Sociology of Sports, Sociology of Health, Sociology of Education, Marriage and Family), as well as coursework that directly addresses current topics in social justice (e.g, Contemporary Social Problems, Comparative Racial and Ethnic Relations, Sociology of Religion, and Inequality, Class, and Social Justice). A major, double major, or minor in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Justice can greatly enhance any major at the University of Saint Francis.
