Middle & High School Secondary Education
USF’s secondary education program is second to none, with double the power of traditional secondary programs. How so? At USF,we merge seven content area programs with a program that prepares secondary majors to teach students with mild special education needs. The dual licensure programs of business, health/physical education, math, language arts, social studies, life science, and chemistry—blend with special education to ensure majors are equipped to meet the broad range of student learning needs encountered in today’s diverse classrooms.
As a secondary education major you will learn the realities of teaching. From the first teacher education course through student teaching, secondary education majors work with students in public, private, and/or parochial schools in cities, suburbs, and rural communities throughout northeast Indiana, under the guiding hands and professional expertise of skilled university professors and veteran classroom teachers. Our secondary education graduates enter the education profession confident in meeting the challenges of teaching and eager to impact the lives of middle and high school students.
