Why teaching as a career? Why Now?
Troops to Teachers is a program designed for military members choosing to begin a second career as a teacher with exciting and challenging opportunities to change the lives of children. If you have obtained a baccalaureate or an advanced degree, you are eligible to begin the teaching certification process at USF to become a teacher in the area of exceptional needs. There is a national shortage of teachers for our most vulnerable students-students with a variety of disabilities and special needs. These are the students who can benefit most from both the responsible discipline and the compassion displayed by those who served America.
If you have served in any branch of the United States military, and you want to make a critical difference in targeted public schools in a high need area- special education for students with disabilities, USF welcomes you into our graduate mild or intense intervention licensure program. Be a teacher.
