Graduate Programs

Does special education “call you”? Do you desire a master’s degree, or wish to pursue a teaching license?  Perhaps a fully online program, or one that combines face-to-face with online classes in a customized hybrid format is an option.  If you are one of the thousands of work and time-saturated adults who strive to advance their careers, yet have little time for hours of seat-time, USF is a smart fit.

At USF you will find courses that are carefully sequenced into licensing and master degree experiences. Licensing courses as well as the 33 - 36 credit hour Master of Education in Exceptional Needs (M.S. Ed., Special Education) are delivered in your choice of two formats that adapt to adult learners’ crowded schedules: fully online or hybrid. The program provides a strong, research-based preparation in professional teaching practices within a framework of Franciscan values.

The 33 - 36-credit hour master’s program is designed to develop special educators who are knowledgeable of the foundations and theoretical basis of special education, the developmental characteristics of learners who require mild or intense intervention services, and the instructional practices that best serve students.

Our professors bring deep, practical knowledge and skills to courses, ensuring that your investment of time and money in our programs yields positive results for your students. With graduate level courses, we strengthen our commitment to offering flexible learning opportunities without skimping on quality.
