Phillip NchekwubePhilip C. Nchekwube is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership (SOBEL). He has a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) with concentration in Corporate Law from the University of California at Berkeley. He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with concentration in Finance from Santa Clara University in California. He also obtained his Bachelors Degree in Accounting with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) and first in his class from the same school. Professor Nchekwube is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He is also an attorney licensed to practice in California and Indiana.

After passing the California Bar, Professor Nchekwube worked as corporate lawyer for Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue in Washington, D.C. advising and representing large and medium-sized companies in corporate transactions including Mergers and Acquisitions, Security Transactions, Hart-Scott-Rodino FTC Reviews and Corporate Governance. After leaving the law firm of Jones, Day Reavis and Pogue, Professor Nchekwube opened his law firm in California representing mostly international businesses. Some of his clients included pharmaceutical companies that conducted drug trials and distribution abroad. Professor Nchekwube also owned and managed several franchises in California.

Prior to law school, Professor Nchekwube worked for Versatec (a subsidiary of Xerox) as a Cost and Financial Analyst in charge of the financial analysis of all the foreign subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He also worked for the International Accounting firm of Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) as an Auditor and Tax Specialist in Silicon Valley advising individuals and Hi-Tech companies in tax and financial matters. Before coming to Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership (SOBEL), Professor Nchekwube was a trial attorney having spent five (5) in Lake County, Indiana as a Deputy District Attorney prosecuting felony and white-collar crimes.

Professor Nchekwube is an avid soccer enthusiast, and he played semi-professionally for several years. He loves to travel. He travelled extensively in Africa, Europe and Latin America.
