Eighth International Symposium on Catholic Social Thought and Management Education: Renewing Mission and Identity in Catholic Business Education
June 18 – 20, 2012, University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio.  Information of the Symposium may be found at:
Presented the paper “Teaching the Principles of Economics: Reconciling the Canon of the American Economics Association to Catholic Social Teaching.”

Working on an interdisciplinary textbook for my course, The Economics of Social Issues. The currently available textbooks define social problems as arising only from market failures; e.g. externalities, common resource markets, natural monopolies.  This text use will begin by defining social issues from a broader perspective and will augment the economic approach by bringing in concepts and ways of thinking from all the social sciences and from Catholic Social Teaching.

Presented a paper at the ASSA in January, 2011, titled “Income Distribution – An American Institutionalist and Critical Realist Perspective.” Was generally well received and some very constructive suggestions were given but is on the shelf for now.
