The program emphasizes Catholic doctrine and history, critical and creative thinking, research, and writing. Students have the option of doing a master's thesis or pastoral fieldwork.
Prospective graduate students in theology should hold a bachelor's degree in theology or in another field with some coursework in theology and a solid preparation in the liberal arts. A prospective student's undergraduate GPA should be 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
The degree consists of 36 graduate credit hours:
