Sister Anita has been a Sister of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration for 38 years and is also a USF alum (BSEd '76 and MSEd '82). Having done post-graduate work in elementary administration and Franciscan Studies, she has been an educator for over 30 years, serving in Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana and Honduras, Central America. In 2005 she completed a 2-year program in Franciscan Spirituality at the Pontifical University of St. Anthony (the "Antonianum") in Rome. Currently she is pursuing an M.A. in Franciscan Studies in summers at the Franciscan Institute of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY.
She writes, "It is a joy and a privilege for me to teach at my alma mater and share with others my love for Jesus and the Church, as well as for the Franciscan way of life."
In addition to her duties as an instructor, she is the director of the Center for Franciscan Spirit and Life, which promotes the spirituality of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi at USF. The center offers prayer experiences, speakers, discussion groups and more to faculty, staff and students, as well as to the Fort Wayne community and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, so that all can learn about and personally integrate into their lives the Franciscan way of living and serving God, others and all creation.
