Dr. Fleischacker teaches a variety of courses in philosophy and theology. He earned his doctorate from the Catholic University of America. His dissertation was on the 19th century convert to the Catholic faith, John Henry Cardinal Newman. Dr. Fleischacker continues to publish writings on Newman and education, science and religion, and on the works of Bernard Lonergan. He is currently the chair of the department of philosophy and theology and the director of the ministry program at USF. He is also the director of the Lonergan Institute in Washington, D.C.
