It also enhances and sharpens the research, writing, and communication skills that form the basis of a liberal arts education. The study of history prepares students for a number of careers where these skills are vital, including government service, law, business, or museum and archival work. The history program particularly focuses on preparing its students for success in graduate or professional programs.
