In addition to teaching courses, Dr. Schneider serves as director of the Political Science program at the University of Saint Francis. He earned his doctorate at Boston College. His research interests include topics in political theory and American political thought: political rhetoric, liberalism, representation, utopianism, the statesmanship of Abraham Lincoln, and John Stuart Mill and his critics. Schneider is the author of Lincoln’s Defense of Politics: The Public Man and His Opponents in the Crisis over Slavery (University of Missouri Press, 2006).
