A major in English prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities including writing, business, editing, library science, journalism, mass communications, public relations, travel, civil service, human resources, and administration.
In addition, the major is an excellent preparation for graduate-level studies in English, law, business, and related areas. Secondary Language Arts prepares students for teaching and administrative careers in secondary education.
Scholarships are available for English majors through the Liberal Arts Scholarship Exam as well as other resources through the Office of Financial Aid.
