The variety and quality of instrumentation for our undergraduate students is one of the finest in the area. Our faculty work one-on-one with students to gain hands-on experience using modern instrumentation. Students actively use instruments in beginning in General Chemistry (UV/Vis scanning spectrophotometer) and Organic Chemistry (FTIR Spectrometer, NMR Spectrometer, and GC-Mass Spectrometers). As stduent continue into their upper level courses, they are then able to apply their experiences to new projects.
A few instruments include:

In addition to instrumentation primarily used for chemical analysis, Achatz Hall of Science houses a variety of instrumentation utilized in biochemistry and molecular biology. Some of these instruments include: electrophoresis gels, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), scintillation counter, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), and confocial microscope.
