Studio Art – Crafts
The Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art prepares students for positions in Studio Arts related job markets. A degree in Studio Arts also gives students all the necessary skills to succeed in graduate study. The Bachelor of Arts Studio Art program, with a concentration in Crafts features a sound traditional arts core curriculum and 18 extra hours in Fibers and Metalcraft.
Fibers
The Studio Art concentration in Crafts includes both Fibers and Metalcraft. The crafts area includes the fiber studio and the metals lab.
The fiber studio contains twelve assorted floor looms, two sewing machines, a washer and dryer, and work areas for dying fabric. Fiber classes cover all aspects from dying to weaving with some attention to fashion.
