Nobody Told Me...

  • That popcorn tastes so good so many nights in one week.
  • That an alarm clock is a necessity.
  • That I will pray my mailbox had mail in it everyday.
  • That there’s more to college and learning than classes.
  • That food service really does try to cook meals like I had at home.
  • That there is a person called an R.A. who knows what’s going on and who can answer most of my questions.
  • That I can get involved in Hall Council and be a part of planning so many events.
  • That I don’t have to make my bed everyday if I don’t want to.
  • That I have to dial 9 to call off campus.
  • That the residence halls provide laundry rooms and soda and candy machines.
  • That I’ll learn to budget my time and energy.
  • That roommates are the greatest people in the world.
  • That there is a person called a Hall Director in every residence hall who can answer any questions that my R.A. can’t.
  • That I don’t have to sit in my room the first couple of days just because I don’t know anyone or where anything is.
  • That it will take hours to get everything put away and then it will take even more hours to find them again.
  • That I can make so many friends.
  • That my residence hall will feel like home when I become involved in hall activities, make new friends, and take advantage of all that residence halls have to offer.
