Operations Mission
Statement
To assist all members of the campus community in the process of providing students with a
quality
education through the promotion, implementation and
maintenance of facilities and policies that provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and aesthetic environment.
Operations includes the
following five divisions:
- Maintenance & Repair
- Grounds
- Custodial
- Security
- Copying Center
The Operations Department maintains 75
plus acres of ground, 5,000 square feet of drives and parking
areas, with a capacity of 1000 plus vehicles. The department
maintains 22 buildings containing nearly ½ million square feet of
space.
The Operations Department is located
in Trinity Hall, on the lower level, beneath the food service
area. To access us, please use the door near the loading dock at
the rear of the building. Our main office number is 434-3225.
This department attempts to cover all
work necessary in maintaining the proper operation, cleanliness of
the campus, and the safety of persons and property, on a scheduled
basis, in keeping with our allowable budget and personnel. The
workload of the department is designed to utilize each and every
hour a member of the department is on duty. The department does
not normally maintain standby personnel, but if an emergency
arises, personnel will be called from routinely scheduled work. It
is highly desirable to anticipate needs in advance to effect the
most efficient understanding, planning and completion of work.
For tracking purposes, ALL work
requests and facilities room requests need to be placed through
the USF intranet site, front page, under forms, click on “work
orders” or “room requests”. Please do not ask our staff members
to take a verbal or email request.
For emergency requests only (e.g.
broken water pipes, etc.) please call extension 3225 or 3176.
During off hours or if no answer, you may call Security at
extension 3222.
Please do not call the
Operations Office with a work request, unless it is a true
emergency. Thank you!
