Free Health Screenings and Information at University of Saint Francis’ Focus on Health

April 9, 2008, Fort Wayne, Indiana: The School of Health Sciences at the University of Saint Francis will host Focus on Health on Friday, April 18 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Hutzell Athletic Center. Student, faculty and staff volunteers will collaborate with invited health professionals from the area to provide free health screenings and information to the campus, neighborhood and greater Fort Wayne community.

Student and community health services will provide health information booths such as Alcoholics Anonymous or disaster services from the American Red Cross. Free screenings for vision, hearing and blood pressure are provided. In addition, there will be low-cost blood draws for glucose, electrolytes, lipids, and anemia. New tests available this year are PSA for prostate and TSH for thyroid.

For a complete list of health screenings and health professionals, contact Vicki Helton at 260-399-7700 ext. 8501.

The University of Saint Francis, founded in 1890, is a comprehensive university in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, offering undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 2,100 students from a broad geographic region.
