Friday, October 19, 7 p.m.:
Aurora, for
as long as we have been on Earth, the Northern and
Southern Lights have mystified, intrigued and enthralled
humankind. Aurora unravels the mystery of the
“lights” while engaging you with color images, rare
video and film clips and our own aurora special effects.
Saturday, October 20, 7 p.m.:
The Explorers of The ISS simulates a future
trip to the completed space station aboard space shuttle
Endeavour. The show features video footage shot by
astronauts and cosmonauts. Live portions of the show
will help you prepare for Discovery’s launch and mission
as STS 120 is now scheduled for launch on Tuesday,
October 23.
Family Matinee, Saturday,
October 20, 2 p.m.: Zubenelgenubi’s Magical Sky
This show is specifically designed
for young children (pre-K through first grade) making
their first planetarium visit. Children will meet a
talking telephone pole, a squirting fireplug and other
cartoon characters. The characters will explore the Sun,
Moon and several wonders of the sky. “ZUBE” is
presented with subdued lighting and is designed to ease
visitors into the planetarium experience. The show is
approximately 23 minutes in length and will be followed
by a simple tour of the night sky.
All planetarium shows include a
live presentation by a member of the planetarium staff
to help find objects currently visible in the Fort Wayne
night sky. Weather and sky conditions permitting,
evening shows may offer an additional outside
sky-watching experience conducted by planetarium staff.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for
children under 18 and $3 for senior citizens with a
maximum of $14 per family. Please arrive to be seated
