  2. Have exposure to work in the health field through observation, volunteer service or employment.
  3. Posses knowledge concerning the profession of physical therapy.
Meet two of the following criteria for admission:
  • Rank in the upper half of high school graduation class with a cumulative grade average of "C" or above.
  • Achieve an SAT I recentered composite score of 1000 or higher or an ACT composite score of 21 or higher.
  • Earn 12 or more credit hours in applicable college subjects with a cumulative GPA of "C" or above. It is strongly recommended that at least three credits must be in a physical or biological science course.
  • Possess an associate or higher level degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Earn 12 or more credit hours at University of Saint Francis with a grade of "C" or above in each class. It is strongly recommended that at least three credit hours be in a biological or physical science.

*The Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) for Health Occupations Aptitude Examination may be substituted for the SAT or ACT.

The Physical Therapist Assistant Program Admissions Committee will identify those qualified applicants who will be offered admission. Each application is reviewed on an individual basis.

Exception to the stated admission criteria may be made and applied fairly at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Review of applications for the Fall PTA class begins in November and continues until the class is full.

A point system is used to evaluate applications of qualified candidates in order to (a) accept applicants into the program and (b) rank order applicants on a wait list. The point system used by the PTA Program Admissions Committee will be provided to an applicant upon request.
