Oaks & Willows Learning Center

A Non-Profit Service Provided By:

University of Saint Francis

Department of Education

in the School of Professional Studies

Program Overview

The Oaks & Willows Learning Center is a non-profit service the University of Saint Francis has offered for over 25 years for 1st through12th grade students.  This program offers quality diagnostic testing, evaluation of student skills, and instruction by qualified, licensed teachers.  The focus of the Center is improving students’ math, writing and reading comprehension skills.  Students receive personalized instruction in small groups, in addition to one-on-one attention.

Continuous observations and on-going assessments allow the instructors to custom design instruction and learning experiences. These experiences provide alternative approaches to practices that may have proven ineffective with some students.  Personalized instructional attention augments students’ skills and models strategies students can apply independently.  Building confidence in the ability to learn is critical to the development of the child as a self-directed learner.
