Students Receive Awards and Display Talent in 36th Annual SOCA Student Exhibition
April 14, opening night of the 36th Annual SOCA Student Exhibition, saw outstanding students in creative arts receive scholarships and awards in the SOCA Student Awards Ceremony, with Best of Show going to Studio Art major Patrick Gainer. The annual ceremony honors artists, musicians and scholars in the School of Creative Arts for high achievement in the arts and recognizes students for best representation in the exhibition.
In addition to the awards ceremony held in the North Campus Auditorium, opening night featured more than 500 pieces of student artwork displayed in various locations across campus, including the Rolland Center for Art and Visual Communication and the university’s galleries — Weatherhead, Goldfish and Lupke. Music was showcased at North Campus Auditorium with the University Jazz Ensemble performing.

The Weatherhead and Goldfish galleries are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The Lupke Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
