Future of Healthcare Event Addresses ACA

Over 1,000 healthcare and other professionals took advantage of a live presentation and webinar, “ACA: Provisions and Terminology,” on Jan. 28, as the university continued its free education on current, relevant topics with its Future of Healthcare event. With provisions of the Affordable Care Act impacting employers, employees and businesses over the next two years, the university offered the presentation live at the USF Performing Arts Center, and also in a webinar. The “Future of” series is ongoing in a variety of important subjects.

Keynote speaker Blayne Miley, JD, Indiana State Nursing Association Director of Policy and Advocacy, addressed Indiana’s approach to Medicaid expansion, insurance marketplaces and the unique terminology resulting from the Affordable Care Act. Breakout sessions with business, human resource professionals and healthcare practitioners followed.

Healthcare education credits were granted to professionals attending the lecture or webinar.

Parkview Health, Physicians Health Plan and Lutheran Health Network joined the University of Saint Francis in sponsoring the free lecture.
