Congratulations to Our Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams
An exciting 82-81 win over IU-Southeast on December 6 started the Cougars rolling. The team capped its eight-game winning streak on Jan. 7 with a victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University, when USF led by only one point at halftime but went on to beat MVNU 79-56.
Although the three games since Jan. 7 have been losses for the team, the season isn’t over yet – and you can’t keep a good team down. So congratulations, Cougars, for all you’ve achieved thus far this season.
On Jan. 7, 11 and 14, the Lady Cougars took home three wins in a row. And there was more good news when leading scorer Kayla Drake was named Jan. 17 as NAIA Division II Player of the Week and Mid-Central College Conference Women’s Player of the Week.
Unfortunately, Kayla sustained a broken bone in her ankle that kept her out of the Jan. 18 game against Indiana Wesleyan University. Despite losing the game to Indiana Wesleyan, however, the Lady Cougars made a strong showing in the first half.
