USF Feeds the Fort Again

For the fifth year in a row, the University of Saint Francis held its annual "USF Feeds the Fort" food drive to assist families in need. The goal this year was to collect 35,000 food items to help stock local food banks and soup kitchens in time for the holiday season.

The drive ran from Sept. 17 through Nov. 19, and the final tally showed that 30,836 food items were collected. Additional contributions were made by Galloping Gobbler runners on Thanksgiving Day as USF looks to expand the food drive effort beyond our own faculty and staff contributions. The campus community, food bank staff and directors, and local volunteers met at the university’s North Campus parking lot on Nov. 20 to load the food items onto a truck for distribution to area food outlets.
