End Zone Update
The South End Zone Training Center project at D’Arcy Stadium is a little ahead of schedule and should be completed before the Homecoming game on October 12, 2013. Steel work is scheduled for completion by the end of July, and the mason will finish the block walls before the end of August. All of the mechanical systems, plumbing, finishes and bleachers will be installed in August and September.
The facility’s foundation was poured in mid-May, and the walls began going up in June. Included will be a locker room for visiting teams, a training center for USF athletes and a covered outdoor viewing area. In addition, the fitness center will offer weight training equipment and a track for short acceleration exercises.
“The Strength Training Center will optimize specific strength training to allow USF athletes to achieve a level of excellence not possible before,” said USF Athletic Director Mike McCaffrey. “It will also free up training space for other USF athletes and fitness enthusiasts.”
