GOSHEN, Ind.
-- Adam Longsworth won a pair of events and accounted
for 28 points while Brandi Gangloff and Alexandra Hornstein
secured first-place finishes for the women in the Goshen
Invitational on Saturday, April 1.
Longsworth was a
provisional qualifier for the NAIA Outdoor National
Championships in late May with his winning effort in the
discus -- 153 feet, 8 inches. The sophomore also won the shot
put with a 49-foot effort. He placed second in the hammer at
149-9.
"Even with the bad weather we’ve had the last two meets, we
still got some nice performances out of some people today,"
USF head coach Sarah Thrall said. "Brandi threw really well in
her events and Lisa Marie Setnicker ran her fastest times in
the 100 and 200."
Hornstein was
the top point winner for the USF women. She locked down 19 1/2
with a first in the 400 and a second in the 800. She led off
for USF's 4X800 relay team that finish third. Gangloff
won the hammer and was fifth in the discus.
