MANCHESTER, Ind. The University of Saint Francis men's
track team continued to produce strong performances and this
past Saturday was no exception as the Cougars had two more
athletes qualify for the National meet in May.
Freshman Nick
Adams qualified in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.49
meters. This gave him second place behind Adam Longsworth who
improved on his seasons best with a throw of 53.22 meters.
Sophmore
Eulise Barney, on his last attempt in the long jump, hit a
mark of 6.96 meters. Although it wasn't enough to edge
out Scott Gill from Taylor University, it was good enough to
earn him a trip Nationals with Adams and Longsworth.
Also
performing well on the men's side was freshman sprinter Dustin
Wilson who won the 200 with a time of 22.34 and was second in
the 400 with a time of 49.87. Alex Bush ran a five second PR
in the 800 as he finished in 2:06 in ninth place.
The women's
team also performed well with Morgan Roy equaling her seasons
PR in the long jump at 4.43 meters good for fourth place.
Angela Saraceno ran a PR in the 400 with a time of 1:07.21 for
sixth place and Dana Leinhos also ran a her best time in the
800 with a 2:34 to place seventh.
