  UPLAND, Ind. -- University of Saint Francis track and field athletes continued to make progress in the Taylor Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

  In men's competition, sophomore Adam Longsworth, and freshmen Donovan Evans and Samuel Norris III provided strong performances. Evans placed third in the long jump, "an excellent start for Samuel," USF coach Sarah Thrall said. Longsworth placed second in the shot put, third in the weight throw. "I had an off day, so I'm looking forward to our meet this Saturday at DePauw," Longsworth remarked.

  Norris became the first man to advance to a hurdles final event since 2002 and finished seventh.

  Other highlights for the men included:
  *Justin Clark and Jon Exner both ran PR’s in the 3000.  Jon lowered his time by 16 seconds.  His previous PR had been 10:05

  *Jeremy Heinold running the 800 for the first time and running a 2:09 is an excellent time.

   For the women, Alexandra Hornstein, Amy Martin, and Lisa Marie Setnicker had the highest places -- Hornstein a third place in the 600-meter run and Martin a sixth; and Setnicker finished sixth in the long jump. Katie Schilling secured a top 10 finish with an eighth in the shot put.

  Coach Thrall also noted:

*This was the first time Amy Martin has ever run in an 800 and she ran a 2:29 split in our 4X800

*Lisa Marie Setnicker’s long jump of 15’4” was a PR for her
