FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Carroll High
School seniors Hilary Powers and Kristen Sloffer signed
letters-of-intent to continue their education and soccer
careers at University of Saint Francis today. The pair
helped the Chargers to a 14-3-1 record in 2005 and plan to
make an immediate impact on head coach Ken Nuber's Lady
Cougar squad in the fall.
Powers, born in Jackson,
Miss., played her first three prep seasons at Bartlett High
School in Memphis, Tenn., where she became one of the top
scorers in the area. She earned Second Team All-Northeast
Hoosier Conference honors as a senior and totaled 69 goals
during her four-year varsity career.
Sloffer served as Carroll's
captain last fall and anchored one of the area's top
defenses. She earned First Team All-Northeast Hoosier
Conference three times and ISCA All-District 2 and News
Sentinel All-Area honors in 2005. She earned four
varsity letters and started each of her four season at
Carroll.
The USF women's soccer team
