Ken Nuber
Head Women's Soccer Coach

Ken Nuber is entering his 14th season at the University of Saint Francis, 13th at helm of the USF women’s soccer program. Nuber built a Lady Cougar program from the ground up that has consistently improved and developed into a conference and regional contender year in and year out. Over its first 12 years, the women’s soccer team boasts a 158-87-12 record.

Nuber’s Twelve-year tenure has given the Cougars soccer program respect in the Mid Central Conference and on a national level. Nuber’s accolades include being named MCC Coach of the Year (1996, 1997 and 2000) and Mid-West Region Coach of the Year (1997 and 2002). He has been a finalist for National Coach of the Year two times in his career.

The program also is a nine-time recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for having a team GPA of 3.0 or better for the academic calendar year.  In January 2007, The Lady Cougars earned a 3.61 GPA placing them 4th in the nation at all levels of play just behind the 3.71 mark set by Eastern Michigan University.

Coach Nuber holds a National Diploma and an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA and is the current president of the NAIA-NSCAA Women's Coaches Association. Nuber is a staff coach at the University of Notre Dame Soccer Camps and was an assistant coach for the Fort Wayne Fever W-League team in 2004, its inaugural season. Also active with Citadel FC in Fort Wayne, Nuber currently is head coach of the ’89 girls team in the club.

Nuber began his connection with the University of Saint Francis in 1989 as a member of the Men's Soccer program. By the time he finished his career, he ranked 2nd all-time in goals and points and is among the leaders in several other single-game and career records. In the spring of 2005, Nuber was inducted into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame as an athlete.

Nuber also coached the USF softball program four years between 2000 and 2003 and is the school's all-time wins leader with a record of 75-74 (.503).

A graduate of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Nuber earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Saint Francis in 1993. He and his wife, Gina and their daughter, Mya (2), and son, Jayden (born in May), reside in Fort Wayne.

Whitney Patterson
Assistant Coach
Patterson was a two-year starter in midfield at USF after red-shirting one season at NCAA Division I Butler University. Knee injuries cut short her playing career but not before she made her mark on the field. In 2004, she earned All-MCC and All-NAIA Region VIII honors before finding a spot on the NAIA Honorable Mention All-America Team.

Natalie Wiegmann
Assistant Coach
Natalie returns to her roots where she is a legend in the goal mouth.  Natalie played for the Lady Cougars from 2000- 2003 and is arguably the best keeper the school has produced.  Nat holds career records in shutouts (38) and saves (495).  Natalie’s primary job will be training the keepers so she will be working closely with Stacey who holds the records that Natalie is second.  Natalie was an assistant coach at USF in 2004 and has served as the assistant coach at Snider High School.  Natalie is also a staff coach at the University of Notre Dame Soccer camp.  Natalie holds a USSF Goalkeeping license.
