Grand Island, Neb
– The University of Saint Francis
football team will enter its ninth season as the No. 2 team in
The Victory Sports Network preseason NAIA Top 25.
The VSN Poll is compiled from
information submitted from coaches in the NAIA as well as
reports from the Victory Sports Network writers team. VSN's
Owner Jason Dannelly then compiles the poll based on that
information.
Topping the poll for the third season
in a row are the Carroll College Fighting Saints. Georgetown
is No. 3 followed by Sioux Falls, and McKendree rounding out
the Top 5.
USF is one of four Mid-States Football
Association Mideast League members ranked in the Top 25. Walsh
received its highest preseason rank ever at No. 6. Geneva is
No. 12 after losing a 36-35 decision at Georgetown in the
first round of the NAIA Championship Series in 2005 and Urbana
is No. 23. USF will play Urbana at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium on
Oct. 7 and Walsh at BDS on Nov. 4. The Cougars, 2005 NAIA
Championship runner-up, will play at Geneva on Nov. 11 to
close the regular season campaign.
