Al Harants
Quarterbacks Coach
Al Harants joins
the University of Saint Francis staff after coaching last
season at Concordia and helping the Cadets advance to the
school’s first football regional championship. He has a wealth
of knowledge about the intricacies of the run-and-shoot
offense and employed it throughout his time as a high school
head coach.
Harants was 220-115 as a high
school head coach. Harants retired from teaching and head
coaching duties at North Central High School in Indianapolis
in February of 2002 after 10 years running the Panthers’
football program.
But Harants is no stranger to
northeastern Indiana football. He started out at South Adams,
moved to Bellmont and then to Wayne, where he went 33-30
building a winning tradition at school where wins were rare.
Wayne advanced to the 1992 Class 4A championship and won the
championship in 1995.
He lives in Fort Wayne with
his wife, Sandy. |
