Huntington--It felt like anything, but October as temperatures
reached the high 80's on Saturday at the Baker Invitational hosted
by Huntington University.
James Dueling placed 9th out of 24 runners with a time of 28:25. Alex
Bush was 14th at 29:38.
On the women's side, sophomore Amy Roberts finished 17th out of 38 runners in
21:38, her best time of the year. Tiffany Bremer crossed the line in 22:39
and Robyn Chapman was not far behind in 22:50. Molly Getts and Jennifer
Wells finished the scoring as they finished with times of 23:47 and 26:05.
"We really struggled out there today," said head coach Sarah Thrall.
"It was just a really tough day for us. However it was good to see Amy
running better. She's raced at Notre Dame and Louisville, two courses
which are very flat. For her to run faster on Huntington's course shows
she's getting stronger and more fit."
USF will be back in action next Saturday at the Manchester College Invite.
