LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- James Dueling
and Alex Bush both set season PR's for the third week in a row
as the cross country teams competed in the Louisville Classic
on Saturday.
Running in the men's 8k Blue Race,
Dueling finished with an impressive time of 27:20 to place
25th. Freshman Bush followed with a 28:34.
"Jimmy's training is going really
well for him right now and it it showed out there today, "
said Head Coach Sarah Thrall. "The last time I saw him
in the race today was at the 5k mark and he looked really
strong. I knew he was going to get a good time. I
couldn't be happier with the success Alex is having.
We've been training pretty hard these last couple of weeks,
but he's doing really well. A 28:34 for your third 8k,
that's very good, " Thrall added.
On the women's side, the Cougars
were again led by junior Tiffany Bremer as she finished the 5k
course in a time of 21:41, almost a minute faster than she ran
last year. Amy Roberts was the next USF runner to cross the
line as she ran a 22:12. Robyn Chapman and Molly Getts
were the third and fourth runners as they finished with times
of 22:35 and 23:49. Lynn Altevogt was the fifth Cougar
in at 24:03.
USF is back in action next
Saturday as they travel down Route 24 to Huntington.
