SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The USF men's and women's
cross country teams had a strong showing at the National
Catholic Invitational on Friday as several runners took
advantage of the cool weather and flat course and set PR's.
Tiffany
Bremer led the women with a time of 21:33 for the 5k.
She was followed by sophmore Robyn Chapman with a time of
22:05. The next Cougar across the line was Amy Roberts
who missed the first meet with a back injury. Roberts
finished in 22:20. Freshman Lynn Altevogt ran 23:37
and another freshman Jennifer Wells rounded out the scoring
as she finished in 24:17.
James
Dueling and Alex Bush both represented USF well in the JV
race. Dueling finished 17th with a time of 28:27 and
Bush ran 27:57 while finishing 24th.
"Tiffany
and Robyn ran really well today, " stated Coach Thrall.
"It great to have Amy back too. She hasn't really been
healthy since outdoor track. Jimmy had a good race and
Alex really surprised me today. We talked about having
his goal for today to be under 30:00. He's really
strong and is training really well right now."
The Cougars
will get a weekend off before making the trip to Louisville,
KY for the Louisville Classic.
