Francis junior Toni Burney is one of three Lady
Cougars named to the 2007-08 Mid-Central Conference
All-Conference team.
Burney was the lone USF
first-team selection for the team chosen by the nine league
head coaches.
Other Lady Cougars included junior Marie Kaufmann,
who was named to the second team, and Jamika Banks,
who was named to the MCC All-Newcomer Team.
Burney (Greencastle, IN / Greencastle H.S.) finished
second in the MCC in assists averaging 4.3 per game and a
total of 134 in 31 games for USF. She also finished third in
the MCC in steals per game with 2.1 per game and a total of
64, two short of league-leader Nora Didrick. She finished 16th
in MCC scoring averaging 11.1 points per game.
Averaging 28-plus
minutes per game, Burney shot 47 percent for USF, tied for
sixth best in the conference. Burney finished with two
national rankings in NAIA statistics – No. 28 in
Assist/Turnover Ratio (1.654) and No. 38 in assists per game
(4.3). Burney tied for or led USF in scoring in eight games.
She scored in double figures in 18 of 31 games, 14 of USF’s

seasons at USF, she has scored 548 points, 343 this season.
Kaufmann (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Luers H.S.) ranked No. 20
in NAIA field goal percentage, No. 4 in the MCC, at .524 and
led USF scoring averaging 12.3 points per game. She scored
in double figures in 18 games with a career and season high
30 against Marian College Feb. 13. The 6-foot-1 center score
20 or more points in five games. She also finished tied for
third in the MCC for blocked shots with 27. Kaufmann also
led USF rebounding in 11 games with a best of 10 twice. She
had three double-double games.
Banks (Fort Wayne, IN / Northrop) served as a capable
back-up for Kaufmann in the post and the junior averaged 6.5
points per game. She scored in double figures in 10 games
with a career best of 14 in two different games. She led the
Lady Cougars in rebounding in three games.
