Ind. –
The scoring of Nikki Lewis and Tara Dice and the rebounding
of Chivonn Keppler pushed the University of Saint Francis
women's basketball team to a 64-59 win over Indiana
Institute of Technology, avenging an 87-75 loss to the
Warriors in 2005-06.
The Lady
Cougars (6-1) trailed Tech 29-22 at the half, but won the
game with a 42-30 advantage after the break. USF outscored
IIT 16-1 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes and
improved to 46% from the floor after shooting 37% before
intermission.
Lewis reached
20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Dice hit three
three-pointers to score 15. Keppeler off-set an off night on
the offensive end with 14 rebounds -- 11 in the final
stanza.
Porsche Reaves
and Kamisha Wilson netted 14 apiece for the Warriors (4-3).
USF opens
Mid-Central Conference play Tuesday, Nov. 21 versus Spring
Arbor University at Hutzell Athletic Center.
