NorthWood guard bringing court skills to USF

     NAPPANEE, Ind. – NorthWood High School senior Ryan Bradley signed a letter-of-intent to continue his education and basketball at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.

    Bradley, a 6-foot-2, 160-pound guard who resides in Wakarusa, has been co-captain for two seasons for the Panthers. He averaged 18.4 points a game his senior year for the Panthers, 14.7 points a game in 2001-02 as a junior under head coach Dan Gunn. He shot 49 percent overall, 47 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent at the free throw line.

   This past season Bradley led NorthWood to a 14-7 record and had games of 35 points and 30 points.  His best individual scoring effort was a 35-point performance in a 73-65 loss at Lakeland. Bradley scored 28 points in the second half. His 30-point effort came in a 65-53 win over Bremen with an 8-for-9 shooting effort including 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.

   A four-year scholar athlete, Bradley was named to the South Bend Tribune All-Area Team, first team Elkhart Truth All-Area and first team Goshen News All Area.

   He became the 36th member of the Elkhart 1,000 point club when he scored 21 points in a 66-59 win over Whitko at the end of February. He scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half to move into third place on the Panthers’ career scoring list.

    Bradley was an all-Northern Lakes Conference selection the last two seasons. He also led the Panthers in free throw percentage and assists the last two seasons. Bradley averaged 4.0 assists a game in 2002-03.
